Support Safe, Decent, and Affordable Housing in Northern Utah!

The need for safe, decent, affordable housing in Northern Utah is real. The statistics are startling. Studies show that more than one in nine Utah families spends half or more of their income on housing. As available housing continues to decrease, the demand for affordable, safe, and healthy homes outweighs the supply, causing many families to find themselves priced out of the market and choosing between how to afford housing and basic needs.

In the 2022 Middle Housing study by Utah Foundation, we learn that “More than 80% of Utahns feel that home prices and rents are too high. Indeed, the cost of housing in Utah has been skyrocketing… Utah’s rapid population growth is projected to continue…suggesting a need for lower-cost, entry-level housing options.” We have seen the need in Northern Utah and are prepared to do our best to provide a pathway to affordable homeownership in our community. We continue to advocate for affordable housing at the state and national level. We strive to build houses that are not only safe, decent, and affordable but energy efficient as well, setting Habitat homeowners up for success.

With your help, we can do more.

Please join us at our annual Raise the Roof Gala on November 10, 2023, to support affordable housing. Individual tickets are $50.00, and Table Sponsorships are $500.00

Over the last 41 years, we have seen how owning a home has blessed families in our community. Through them, we have learned why home matters and it is an honor to help families in our community achieve the goal of homeownership.

This year, we are excited to partner with the Taylor family. After experiencing a divorce, Lane decided to move into his parent’s small home. This was meant only to be a “pit stop” until he could get back on his feet, but with the housing market continuing to worsen and home prices increasing rapidly, he realized homeownership was out of his reach. Lane and his two sons are grateful to his parents and all the help they have given them, but with only a few rooms and one shared bathroom for the entire household, overcrowding affects them all. Lane recently shared with us, “My boys and I are probably most excited to be able to have a place to call our own. Where we are not infringing on others or taking advantage of those willing to help. I’m excited to be in a position of independence-standing on my own feet.”

We are grateful for your support in our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live, and we hope to see you on the evening of November 10th!
